Probate FAQ
1. Is there a difference between a beneficiary and an heir?
Beneficiaries are named to receive an asset after someone's death. An heir is in the blood line of the deceased. An heir can be a beneficiary, but a beneficiary might not be an heir.
2. What should I do with the inheritance I just received?
Deciding what to do with an inheritance is a very difficult choice. After the grief of losing a loved one subsides, you are left with unexpected money. Once taxes are paid, the money can be used anywhere. Inheritance money may be used however you choose. It could be used to pay off personal debts, buy a new car, invested for the future or donated to charity.
