Joint Tenancies

Joint tenancy allows for two or more people to own one piece of real estate. If one of the tenants dies, the property will automatically be put in the name of the other tenant(s). This is considered right of survivorship, so the will, probate and all of the costs associated with that are avoided for this ownership.
